Quick Reference Guide

 

Set Up Telephone

Connect your telephone to the network first and then—only if the telephone display is blank—connect it to an AC outlet using the included power adapter.

 

Making Calls

  • Pick up the handset or press SPEAKER or HEADSET and then do one of the following.
    • Press RDIAL softkey to get a list of the last 15 dialed numbers. Now use the UP/DOWN scroll keys to select the number to be dialed and then press the DIAL softkey to dial the number.
    • Press BOOK softkey and then use the UP/ DOWN scroll keys to select the number to be dialed from the book. Now press the DIAL softkey to dial this number.
    • Enter a number you wish to dial and press the DIAL softkey.
  • Without pressing SPEAKER or HEADSET buttons and without picking up the receiver do one of the following.
    • Press RDIAL softkey. It displays a list of the last 15 dialed numbers. Use the UP/DOWN scroll keys to select one of the numbers and then press any Line button which is registered to dial the selected number.
    • Press BOOK softkey to display the numbers stored in the book. Use the UP/DOWN scroll keys to select a number from the book and then press any line button to dial the selected number.
    • When the phone is not registered then you can also dial a URI. To do this, press the URI softkey and enter a SIP URI. Press the DIAL softkey to dial this URI.

 

AUTODIAL

From the inbuilt website of your phone enter the number which you wish to dial automatically when you pick up the receiver or press the SPEAKER or HEADSET button. Also check the ENABLE AUTO DIAL USER ID check box. Now whenever your phone goes off hook this number will automatically get dialed.

 

Answering Calls

  • Pick up the handset or press SPEAKER/HEADSET.
  • The respective line button starts blinking red in color whenever there is an incoming call on that line. You can also press the Line button of the line on which there is an incoming call to accept the call on that line.
  • To answer another incoming call when one call is already active, press FLASH key.
  • Intercom calls need not be answered. These are picked up automatically and the intercom button glows red in color. The voice from caller can be heard but voice of callee cannot reach the caller untill callee makes it a regular call by pressing the intercom button.

 

Hanging Up

  • In handset mode, place the handset back in the cradle.
  • In speakerphone mode, press the SPEAKER key.
  • In headset mode, press the HEADSET key.
  • Press the Line button of the line on which you want to disconnect the call.
  • Press HNGUP soft key to disconnect the currently active call.
  • An intercom call ends automatically after the configured timeout, except when the callee has made it a regular call.

 

To Place a Call On Hold

Press the HOLD button which starts blinking red and indicates that the call is put on hold.

 

To Mute a Call

Press the MUTE button. The mute button starts to glow red indicating that the phone's outgoing audio channel is off.

 

Adding Entries to Phonebook

  • Go to your telephone's built-in website with your web browser and click on the MEMKEYS AND PHONEBOOK link on the main page. Now click on Add to Phone List and then enter a NICKNAME and SIP URI.
  • From your phone, press the BOOK softkey followed by ADD softkey. Now enter NAME and press ENTER softkey. You can change the upper/lower case and numerals using the leftmost softkey. Now enter NUMBER and press ENTER softkey again. The number has been added to your phonebook. You can verify this by pressing BOOK softkey from your main menu and then scrolling down to see the last saved book entry.

 

Caller ID (CID)

The ID of the other party is automatically displayed on your phone's LCD.

 

Dialing a SIP URI from the Keypad

Press the URI softkey, enter a URI with the keypad, then dial it by pressing the DIAL softkey. This is only possible when your phone is unregistered.

 

Call Waiting

When there are one or more calls active on your phone, then an incoming call is indicated by a short beep in regular intervals. ID of the caller is displayed for 2 seconds on the screen. For this duration the details of the current call are hidden. Also the line button of the line on which the incoming call is ringing starts to blink.

* When there are 2 calls already active on a single line and if there is another incoming call, it goes to voicemail and no call waiting happens since a maximum of two calls per line are allowed.

 

Transferring a call

  • BLIND TRANSFER:- While you are in a call, press XFR softkey, dial the other party, and hang up. You may use a memory key to transfer the call to the number configured in the memory key; for this first press the XFR softkey and then press the memory key.
  • CONSULTATIVE TRANSFER:- When there is a call active press FLASH softkey and then call another party. Talk to the other party, then press XFR to connect the two parties together.
  • CONFERENCING TRANSFER:- While there is single call active on a line, press FLASH softkey and then make another call. Now when two ongoing calls are there, press CONF softkey. All the three phones now come into a conference and can communicate with each other at the same time. Now press XFR or HNGUP softkey to come out of the conference and transfer the call from the first party to the second party.

 

Call Return

Pick up the handset (or press SPEAKER/HEADSET) and dial *69 to automatically call the last caller.

 

Per Call Blocking

Pick up the handset (or press SPEAKER/HEADSET), dial *67 to block your Caller ID. Now for the next call that you make your caller ID will be blocked.

 

Voicemail

Each LINE may have a different voicemail access number, and a different MWI_URI may be configured for each LINE. If a caller leaves a voicemail the red light at the top of your phone starts blinking. This indicates that you have new messages lying in your voicemail. To retrieve a voicemail you have to pick up the receiver or press HEADSET or SPEAKER button and then press VM softkey. Another way is to dial *99.

*If you do not want the LED for the voicemail to blink, then you should uncheck the `MWI SUBSCRIBE` check box. With this you will receive messages in your voicemail but you will not receive any indications for it.

 

Conferencing

The procedure for conferencing is as follows:

  • First configure the conference server for your phone. You can configure it either for single line or for both the lines.
  • Dial a number and when the other party picks up the call press CONF key. This will transfer the call to the server.
  • Now if you want to bring another person into call, press CONF and when the other party picks up the call press CONF key. Now this phone also comes in conference.
  • Now to bring subsequent phones to calls you need to do the previous step again.

 

Using a Headset

Plug headset into headset jack at the back of the phone. Now press HEADSET button on your phone. The headset sign appears in the lower-right-hand corner of the LCD. Also the HEADSET button gets activated and it starts glowing red.

 

Instant Message

Press MENU/BACK button and then press the IM softkey. Information about the IMs appears on the screen. You can read and write messages using the READ and WRITE softkeys that appear. You can also configure your phone to beep whenever an IM is received.

 

DND (DO NOT DISTURB)

When you do not want to receive any calls then enable the DO NOT DISTURB feature of your telephone. To do this, press the DND softkey which shows on the phones LCD when it is in standby mode. The LCD displays the text 'DND' (when the phone is registered) and 'DO NOT DISTURB' (when it is unregistered) to indicate that the DND is activated. Now whosoever calls you will get a busy signal automatically. To disable DND and start receiving calls again, press the DND softkey once more.
